Hi Mary,

I look forward to every new book you release, and reread all those previously released more than once. As a writer of historical romance, I defer to you and your books as the standard of quality to uphold. And just now I have read, through the blog on the Regency Fiction Writers’ website, the following article on the waning interest by traditional publishers of the historical romance genre.

Here is the link: https://romanceandco.substack.com/p/historical-romance-in-peril-voices

I hope the link works for you as it was as interesting as it was saddening. After pouring my heart and soul into a five book series, still unpublished, I now think it will be an even tougher slog to get there, unless I go the Indie route, which I have tried and failed at before with a contemporary series.

I would be very interested to hear your comments or thoughts on what is happening, and if you have been affected by it at all.

Sincerely, an avid and admiring fan,

Sonia Gay
