The more romance books I read, the more I enjoy the ones written by Mary Balogh. In a sense they are a comfort read. They are character-driven, and even if the setting is the Regency we have seen in thousands of other books, she creates characters that sound real, very human, emotions that we can relate to. I have decided that 2026 is the year in which I’m going to read more of her books. I have started with ‘Remember love’ and enjoyed it a lot. Devlin and Gwyneth’s journey was lovely. His journey to the peninsula perhaps not so much —but the ‘misplacement’ of Corunna was a little bit funny.
